ASIM´TRI6

ASIM´TRI6
Festival Asim´tria VI - Perú 2010
Acciones / Arte Sonoro / Conversatorios / Instalaciones / Talleres / Video
Del 13 al 30 de Setiembre de 2010
Arequipa - Cusco

Symposium PROHIBITED FILMS

Symposium PROHIBITED FILMS

9 - 10 September 2010 at the Deutsche Kinemathek, Berlin

A feature film is banned because it - allegedly or actually - violates the law. A planned documentary is never realized because a legal advisor warns of possible law suits that would pose too great a financial risk. At the same time, certain films that are prohibited under the current law can be watched around the globe. These three scenarios constitute different aspects of a common overarching topic. The symposium “Prohibited Films” will serve as a forum to discuss the various legal restrictions that apply to films, and examine the impact that these restrictions have on film production, distribution and reception.

WHERE: Deutsche Kinemathek, Filmhaus am Potsdamer Platz, Potsdamer Str. 2, 10785 Berlin

inter-cool 3.0

inter-cool 3.0 takes place from September 17th to November 28th in 2010 at U in Dortmund/Germany, at the redesigned former brewery.
Within the bounds of European Culture Capital Ruhr 2010 - starting with the Ruhr region ? the exhibition focuses on European dimensions of youth life today.

In the center of the exhibition are the pictorial and media worlds of kids, teenagers and young grown-ups. inter-cool 3.0 doesn?t like to be an art exhibition about the young, it is designed for and aimed at them, open for their individual participation. A key role plays the first building block of the exhibition, the U-gallery for young artists: Space for the presentation of fresh new media artworks. Through the exhibits  (present: call for works at Universities, Art Academies, schools, youth education centers), competitions (compete: a beloved and well tested form among teenagers), workshops (produce: resulting artworks can be a part of the exhibition afterwards, if chosen), and guided tours through the exhibition with the young (discuss:) expertise of various peer-cultures will present itself.
The second building block presents objects of everyday life, originating from the youth culture archive Frankfurt/Germany (http://web.uni-frankfurt.de/fb09/kunstpaed/indexweb/jukult/start.htm) and other sources (donations from brands (selection): Carhartt, Clarks, Miss Sixty, Dr. Martens, Ben Sherman, Fred Perry, Vans, Converse).
